    Tumor cells may adopt different morphologies, patterns of ECM secretion, and modes of migration to successfully colonize distal organs. Clinically, cutaneous melanoma shows a broad tissue tropism and ability to metastasize to many organs. This illustration shows the architectural complexity at each of the diverse microenvironments in which both cell type and ECM composition might affect treatment efficacy.
