Training for Translational Research

A meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland, in February 2010 to discuss ways to promote effective collaborations between academia, government, and industry in the field of translational medicine. One session, summarized in this meeting report, was organized to discuss new strategies for educating translational clinician-scientists. Perspectives from Clinical and Translational Science Award training programs, the pharmaceutical industry, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration were described.
