ONLINE COVER Diamonds Dodge Drug Resistance. Cancers can become resistant to standard chemotherapeutic drugs, which leads to recurrence and treatment failure. Such chemoresistance is often caused by transporter proteins that rapidly pump drugs out of the cell. In this issue, Chow et al. dazzle us with nanodiamonds that deliver the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin to cancer cells, a route that bypasses the pumps and inhibits the growth of chemoresistant tumors.
